FAQ
What is W.H.C.C.C.?
W.H.C.C.C. stands for Writers at Heart Comment and Criticism Corner; a VMKMagic/DisneyMMO group where members can offer honest comment and criticism on short stories, novels, and poems of all writing genres written by other members.
What do you mean by "honest"?
In most stories, comments include typical "Nice", "Go on", and the very simple "More". In W.H.C.C.C., members are expected to give strictor yet honest C+C on short stories/novels/poems, perhaps explaining the problem with the short story/novel/poem, so the author/poet has a better idea of how to continue.
Is W.H.C.C.C. a school/university?
No, W.H.C.C.C. is not a school/university. W.H.C.C.C. offers members to give C+C on each other's work, where as in a school/university, only the teachers give feedback.
Is there a scoreboard?
Yes, there is a scoreboard. Members will score them 1-10, one being the worst, and ten being the best. For whatever score you get per short story, poem, or new chapter in a novel (depending how far the story is by the time you post it on here), those points are added up, and you will go through ranks by your points adding up.
Do we get points per novel, or points per chapter?
You will get points per chapter in a novel, depending on how far the story is. If by the time you post it here, there are already chapters in it, you will only get the points from all the chapters up there combined. Once you post a new chapter, however, you will begin to recieve points per chapter. =) Remember, chapters do not include one paragraph; a good story contains more, so longer chapters will most likely recieve better feedback.
Why does everyone have numbers at the bottom of their posts?
When I was away for a while and came back to find that the members' had more points than I knew of, AlphaSmartKatie came up with this idea for everyone to place the exact amount of points they had at the bottom of their posts so when I came back, I could update the points system properly, thus this system will be kept. =)
What are ranks?
Like a level in a video game or in martial arts, you will earn points, and with every so many points earned, you will go up one rank. These ranks can be found in the "Getting Started" board.
What happens after I get to the last rank?
Once you reach the last rank, you are finished collecting points, but you are still allowed to participate in the other activities held here! =)
How do we recieve C+C and Points?
Other members will leave a post on your short story/novel/poem located in the Writers at Heart forum containing C+C and your score. A small reminder: The score you recieve are the points you recieve. =)
What is this "Must Reads of the Week"?
Every week, I will search W.H.C.C.C.'s members' short stories/poems/novels and the author/poet of each style will be placed in the "Must Reads of the Week" along with their literature which will be updated every week with new short stories/poems/novels. There will also be something similiar for authors/poets.
What is the similiar thing for authors/poets?
In another weekly section, I will decide to interview one member of W.H.C.C.C., then place the interview on the main thread for others to see. The interview will include the member's most successful story/novel/poem, how they came up with it, and tips for future writers at heart. =)
