(m) = masculin (f) = feminin.
in french, adjectives, verbs, pretty much everything is defined by gender. usually a feminin word ends with an "e" (ex. bon is masculin, bonne is feminin)
pronunciation is in brackets and italics. just remember, that in french when pronouncing a word that ends in 's', you don't pronounce the 's' (at least, most of the time. there are some exceptions).
ex.
fille (girl) [ fee ] is pronounced the same when plural, filles.
